My favorites at Phoebe's are the pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw, Carolina style, and their brisket sandwich. They used to do a smoked brisket sandwich too, which was actually the best of the three, but too esoteric for most, I guess.
They also do a good barbecued whole chicken and I like their wings because they are barbecued and not fried. Ribs are ok, but a little bit too perfect for my taste.
Sides including greens, mashed potatoes and greens, are outstanding, as is their cornbread.
