Seems to be lots of catfish places in this part of Alabama - in fact in this part of the South. One thing I've seen in Northern Alabama that I haven't seen elsewhere - fried catfish is served with a slice of raw onion.
Newbern's catfish is pond fed. Comes either whole or filleted. Filleted means no bones. Since I'm more interested in eating than working, I got filleted. A born and bred catfish lover will go for the whole fish
