The don't make 'em like Mary Mac's any more. An authentic southern tea room. Down home cooking, gentile dining rooms, genuinely warm service.

It's meat and three, though the third costs extra. For me, fried chicken, creamy cheese grits, good ol' fried green tomatoes and, of course, a bowl of greens. To drink, a tall icy glass of lemonade. For dessert, super sweet banana pudding, overflowing with sliced bananas, all atop a vanilla wafer and topped with a square of meringue.

Only thing I didn't get was a "Y'all come back soon, ya here" on my way out the door. Then again it wasn't necessary. I can't imagine a trip to Atlanta without a meal at Mary Mac's.
