A couple of people said I had to try this place. "Best burgers in Delaware." "I've been going there since I was a kid." They were right.
The burgers, as the place's name leads one to expect, are charcoal broiled and come in 4 oz and 8 oz sizes. My waitress suggested the accompaniments - lettuce, tomato, onion, relish and mayonnaise. I shoved the pickles to the side, skipped the mayonnaise, and packed everything else together. The flavor was a flavor from my youth, the char-broiled soda fountain hamburger.
I recommend a seat at the counter. It comes with a floor show - a modern day soda jerk, influenced by Tom Cruise's bartending, flipping milkshake containers as he lines up seven shakes at a time and packs each with a double scoop and then some of ice cream.
If you're in need of a major sugar high there are 4 to 15 scoop sundaes, each named after a local high school team.
