The
menu is half Colombian and half Cuban.
Exactly. Split right down the middle. The
original chef is Cuban. When the place changed hands
a while back the new owner had run a Colombian
restaurant. Detente. The Cuban chef
stayed. The Colombian dishes went on the menu. Working
my way from the top of the page down - The Picada
appetizer platter, some of everything - roast pork,
chorizo, corn pancake, tostones, beef. To it's
right, an excellent octopus salad. Next row, pork to
the left and mofongo (crushed, twice fried plantains with
pork crispins mashed in. Below that, ropa vieja
(slow roasted pork, the Columbian tamale and, too the far
right, a tamarind Cuban milk shake.
