The 1500 and 1600
blocks of Ritner way deep in South Philly offer some of
the best eating around. Cacia's for pizza and
breads, Dad's Stuffing for all things Italian and may
foods not, and Primo's for Hoagies. A bunch of
different hoagies, a built crammed pack and fresh.
Top left, Primo's Old
Italian hoagie. Dry cured hot capacola, sharp
provolone and prosciutto. Topped with lettuce,
onion, tomatoes hot pepper and, my choice, both olive oil
and mayo.
Top right, the Milano.
Plain and simple. And delicious. Sweet roasted
red peppers and fresh mozzarella.
Parking is never a
problem. If a space isn't available, make like a
genuine South Philadelphian and double park. |
