The Moonlite Bar-B -Q, in fact the entire city of Owensboro is famous for barbecued mutton.  Not sure why.  Probably because of the area's tasty sheep population.

But the Moonlite barbecues most everything - pork butt, brisket, chicken and ribs.  In vast quantities too.  Behind the scenes is as large and as impressive a barbecue operation as I've seen.  Even FDA inspected.

The only way to start a barbecue dinner in Kentucky is with a bowl of burgoo - Kentucky's version of "stew" made from mutton and chicken.

The way to go at the Moonlite is the buffet line.  All the meats.  All manner of sides.  A cauldron of burgoo to start, and cobblers, banana pudding, pies and cake for dessert.

Only one rule.  Take all you want, but eat what you take.
