Down home cooking doesn't get much better than Hoover's.  They're famous for their chicken fried steak.  It comes with two sides.  I went for garlic cheese grits and creamed spinach with jalapenos.  Dessert, peach cobbler a la mode.

It's tough choosing the one place to eat when in Austin.  I made a great choice.  And I will be back.  Best as I can tell, Austin is worth a week of meals, at least.
