Best
meal I had during my June 2001 trip to Down East
Main. Everything was fresh, made from scratch.
Lobster stew full of lobster. Clams shucked an hour
before I ate them. The only homemade tartar sauce
the whole trip. And a great blueberry pie. Their
slogan reads, with true Yankee honesty, "best clams
by a dam site." Yep, there's a dam next to the
restaurant. But even if there wasn't, I'd have a
tough time disputing that statement - the clams I had were
outstanding.
