Most of the
produce
at the Italian market is disappointing. Too many of the
produce stands are more bargain than quality oriented, and
that's being kind. An
exception is Anastasio's Produce on the border of the
market. They sell mostly to upscale restaurants, but set up
in front of their warehouse on weekends for the
general public. Here you can buy the same produce
that is used by some of the finest restaurants in
Philadelphia at prices that are downright reasonable.
Always a great
selection of mushrooms, fruits and hard to find specialty
produce items. |
